Budget Highlights

In FY 2016, appropriations totaling $46.1 million were enacted to implement the collective bargaining agreements between the State and the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers, Inc. - which represents New York State Troopers as well as Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officers in the Division of State Police.

Adequate funding was provided for retroactive and current payments for general salary increases and other benefit increases in 2014 and 2015. Additionally, funds were provided to Labor Management Committees to fund programs such as health benefits; professional development; and, the employee benefit fund.

The ongoing funding for such collective bargaining agreements is reflected in the Division of State Police budget. Accordingly, this appropriation is no longer necessary and is eliminated.
