The Special Federal Emergency Appropriation provides authority for the disbursement of funds received from the Federal government in the event of an unanticipated emergency affecting the State of New York, such as a natural disaster. The 2014-15 Executive Budget recommends a $1 billion appropriation, unchanged from 2013-14.
