The Office of the State Inspector General's mission is to ensure that State government maintains the highest standards of integrity and accountability. The Office investigates allegations of corruption, fraud, criminal activity, conflicts of interest and abuse in more than 200 Executive Branch agencies, departments, divisions, offices, boards and commissions, certain public authorities and public benefit corporations and any entity of State government, headed by an appointee of the Governor, that does not have its own statutory Inspector General.
The Executive Budget recommends $6.9 million All Funds ($6.8 million in General Fund, $100,000 All Other Funds) for the Office and a workforce of 65 FTEs. The SFY 2015 budget remains unchanged from the SFY 2014 budget as the result of operational and administrative efficiencies.
