Mission

Under the Public Employees' Fair Employment Act (the Taylor Law), the Office of Employee Relations (OER) assists the Governor in relations between the State and its employees, including representing the Executive Branch in collective bargaining negotiations with ten public employee unions. OER's mission is to advance the performance of State government through collaborative labor relations, workforce training, education and benefits.

Budget Highlights

The Executive Budget recommends $4.8 million ($2.9 million General Fund; $1.9 million Other Funds) for the Office. This maintains the operations of the Office at the same level as SFY 2014. The $5 million pilot program to provide job placement training to employees in certain State agencies who are impacted by the closure or restructuring of facilities in 2012-13, 2013-14, or 2014-15 is being reappropriated.

The Executive Budget recommends a workforce of 37 FTEs, which is unchanged from the previous year.
