Mission

The Department of Civil Service is charged with providing human resource management services to State and local governments. The Department assists State agencies with personnel recruitment and placement services, administers tests, oversees job classifications, and administers benefits.

Budget Highlights

The Executive Budget recommends $50.4 million ($14.1 million General Fund; $36.3 million Other Funds) for the Department. The SFY 2015 budget remains unchanged from the SFY 2014 budget as a result of operational and administrative efficiencies.

The Executive Budget recommends a workforce of 350 FTEs, unchanged from 2013-14.
