Mission

The Office of Victim Services provides compensation to innocent victims of crime in a timely, efficient and compassionate manner; funds direct services to crime victims via a network of community-based programs; and advocates for the rights and benefits of all innocent victims of crime.

Budget Highlights

The Executive Budget recommends $76.4 million All Funds ($38.6 million Federal Funds; $37.8 million Other Funds) for the Office. This net decrease of $.841 million from the 2011-12 budget reflects a reduction in Federal grant support as well as a modest increase in personal service to support the continued efforts of the agency to process victims claims in the most expeditious and accurate manner possible.

The Executive Budget recommends a workforce of 78 FTEs for the Office, an increase of three positions from the 2011-12 budget in order to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims filed by victims of crime.
