Overview

To address the state’s deteriorating fiscal condition, Governor Paterson has ordered significant reductions in state agency spending.

As his first act in office, on March 18, he directed agencies to reduce their spending by 3.35 percent. The initial plans submitted by agencies to achieve this target are available here.

As revenues continued to deteriorate, Governor Paterson ordered an additional seven percent spending reduction for state agencies on July 30, bringing the total expected savings target to 10.35 percent.
